Why You Should Consider A Pump Paintball Gun

Friday, May 28th, 2010

Unfortunately when a lot of beginners set out to choose their first paintball gun they inevitably choose a semi-automatic or an automatic paintball gun. For whatever reason the pump paintball gun has acquired a negative stigma and isn’t even considered in the decision making process. Often the rationale is that the owner of a pump paintball gun would be at a disadvantage on the paintball field against owners of automatic paintball guns. Fortunately for the owners of pump paintball guns the opposite is usually true.

On the paintball field it is usually the paintballers playing with pump paintball guns that usually have the advantage. Obviously electric paintball guns shoot faster but are they more accurate? Not only are pump paintball gun users more accurate out of necessity but they are usually more accurate also because paintball guns themselves tend to be more accurate. Electric paintball guns have kick and this leads to errant shots and you don’t have that kick with pump paintball guns. You add this to the fact that pump paintballers are more accurate because the have far fewer shots and you usually end up with a more polished player.

If you are having trouble with your accuracy you may want to consider practicing on the paintball field with a pump paintball gun. Using a pump paintball gun will make you more accurate and it will make you a more patient paintballer. Paintballers that practice with pump paintball guns often become better strategists and tacticians since they can’t rely on their weapons to take out their opponents. If you’re using a pump paintball gun, you’ll have to rely on your wits and intelligence to create a good shot for yourself and then you’ll have to nail it and all of that will make you a better paintballer.

What To Wear When You Go Paintballing

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

It is imperative to wear the right clothes while playing paintball. Wearing the right clothing not only makes the game of paintball more enjoyable but it also makes it safer. A lot of folks think that you have to wear gear and clothes specifically for paintball and that’s just not true.

You’ll see paintballers wearing all sorts of clothing to play and what you want to stay away from are shorts and t-shirts and these just don’t cover enough of your skin. Of course you’ll also see the folks that are all decked out in the latest paintball gear from the most popular paintball apparel manufacturers. You can spend a small fortune on paintball clothes like pants and a jersey but at the end of the day it won’t improve the way you play. What you wear in paintball doesn’t make you any better but it could make you feel more comfortable and relaxed which could lead to a better performance.

Without a doubt the most important thing to focus on when choosing what to wear is picking out clothes that will cover your skin particularly your legs and your arms because those are the body parts that I usually see go uncovered. If you are wearing casual clothing try not to wear anything too light because the paint could stain it permanently. If wearing your own gear, wear clothes that are preferably thick, wear clothes that cover your arms and legs and finally wear something that is loose enough to allow you to be flexible.

Whatever you do don’t wear anything new or anything that you don’t want to lose because not only do you risk getting paint all over it but your clothes could also get torn from rolling around on the ground. Your best bet is to wear clothes that are comfortable and that cover your arms and legs.

You’ll see a lot of paintballers wearing camouflage but that’s not necessary and oftentimes it doesn’t even help. A lot of folks worry about whether or not playing paintball will hurt and paintballs can and will bruise and welt your skin so again… wear clothes that are a little thicker (like a sweatshirt) that cover your arms and legs. If you sunburn easily then you may want to consider using sunblock or just covering your neck.

Probably the most important piece of gear you will wear out to the paintball field is a paintball mask. A paintball mask will protect your face, your ears and your eyes. Under no circumstances should you play paintball without at least goggles but I strongly recommend you wear a paintball mask. If you take anything away from this article it should be that you can get seriously injured if you don’t protect your eyes out on the paintball field.

Again the most important thing when it comes to clothing is to cover yourself from head to toe and to be comfortable in your clothing. Something I haven’t covered yet is wearing gloves to protect your hands as they can also be susceptible. Most paintball guns fire paintballs at a velocity of 250-300 feet per second so it’s important to wear clothing that is thick enough to absorb that. If you plan on playing paintball, wear clothes that are functional and follow the advice in this article and you should be ok.

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

Some pretty cool tips below for you beginners to paintball out there. Check out the video below to see what you’re supposed to do when you find yourself behind a bunker.

Notice how you’re supposed to concentrate at the shooters “line of fire” and then maneuver around that “line” to create a shot for yourself or just move in closer.

While you’re behind a bunker it’s also important to remember to look at your opponent and assess what his line of vision is. Often, like in the video, you can crawl below your opponents field of vision and get a better shot.

How To Choose Your Paintball Field

Monday, February 1st, 2010

When choosing a paintball playing field, there are a lot of different matters to keep in consideration. Not so when choosing a paintball gun… just go to: used paintball guns.  It’s a good idea to check ahead to ensure that the paintball facility you plan on visiting has everything you will need to have a great time. Following are a few matters you may want to take a look at.

Amenities

The first you want to do is look into the facility maybe see if you can find some images online of the lay out. How many fields are there and are they inside or outside? Some paintballing facilities will even have both an indoor and outdoor playing field. This can come in handy if there is inclement weather the day of the planned outing. Also, take a look at what the facility provides as far as terrain goes. Does the paintball playing area have supply bins located throught the playing area? Another thing to look at are the natural environment of the playing area as well as the overall size of the playing area. A location with paintball bunkers and other structures can make for challenging games with obvious strategic advantages. This can make paintballing battles much more fun and thrilling than they would be if the facility did not have it’s own bunkers. One of the most popular games in paintballing is “capture the flag” where you have to capture your adversaries flag and return it to your base and that styl;e of game is perfect for fields with obstructions and structures. There’s no doubt about it, paintballing is a lot more fun when the paintballing playing field has all kinds of junk thrown about.

Gear

If you are new to the sport of paintball then you’ll also want to take a close look at the type of equipment the paintball facility has to offer as rentals. One of the biggest components of paintballing is the paintball gun itself and you don’t want to ruin your experience by going to a place that only rents out low quality gear. Don’t know the first thing about paintballing markers? That’s ok! Check on the internet under paintball gun reviews and familiarize yourself with the different popular brands. All paintballing facilities are various in what they provide and that’s why it’s a good idea to look into it beforehand. If you plan on wearing goggles or a face mask and you don’t own one or the other you better call ahead and ask to see if your paintballing field will rent out that gear.

Prices

Last but certainly not least…how much do they charge? Do not forget to check the pricing on gun and goggle/mask rental as well. Many playing fields can charge a pretty hefty premium on these items. Also, make absolutely sure to follow the rules for the playing field as far as paintballs go. This is another place where you can get some on the internet reviews for paintball fields and their pricing.

Paintball is a lot of fun and it’s filled with adrenaline and exhilaration. ensure it’s a memorable outing and follow these steps.

Paintball is a really fun and adrenaline filled hobby. Many have heard that it is an intense sport. Not known to many, most paintball fields are planned with families in mind. Paintball is just like any other hobby in that there are different levels of play and paintball also offers different games within the game. Capture the flag is the most well known and popular of the paintball games. As a young kid my old man used to take me out hunting. Hunting isn’t politically correct anymore and it’s not something that I consider fun anymore. Paintball gives me the same feeling of excitement and accomplishes what I am looking for in a weekend recreational pastime.

Paintball can be fun for the whole family unit. Many individuals do not realize how much fun paintball can be for the whole family unit. There’s no better creative outlet for a little sibling rivalry then a battle out on the paintball field. Males should be aware that their female counterparts are quick and elusive on the paintball field and quick to pull the trigger as well!

You’d be stunned how much fun you can have with your kids at the paintball park. Paintball itself is nothing to be scared of. A lot of folks are fearful of paintball because they think the paintballs will smart. On occasion you may get a bump or a bruise but if you entirely cover all of your skin and Put On goggles or a mask you should be fine.As with any other hobby you have to Put On the proper gear and protective equipment to play the game safely. Wearing the following gear is best for optimal protection and recommended for youngsters: a chest and back protector, a full coverage paintball goggle, paintball gloves, paintball jersey and paintball pants. All of these are designed to minimize the impact of a paintball and to protect the player.

There are many types of paintball games. Tournament players and kids are big fans of a game called speedball. You can also choose woods ball where you get to try your hand at flushing out the opposition in a camouflaged hiding spot. Capture the flag is by far the most favorite paintball game on the planet but there’s something for everybody on the paintball field. Having the right gear is of utmost importance in paintball and of critical importance is your paintball marker which could make or break you. It is best to buy your gear after you have rented some equipment or purchaseds ome usedpaintball gear. Renting your equipment the first few times out will buy you the experience you need to make a good choice on a paintball marker.

There is a lot of upside, fun and enjoyment and very little danger, if any, in paintball! Like other sports, it helps me forget about the daily stresses of life and enjoy some fun time with my family. After you erase your fears and decide to go, ask some friends that play to fill you in on what to expect. Rent some equipment or buy an inexpensive starter kit. An all inclusive paintball starter kit including a paintball gun (paintball marker which is the same thing) can be found online for less than $100.00.Protect yourself so that you are not afraid of playing the game. Then count on playing several games in the future to hone your skills and having a blast paintballing your friends and family unit!

Paintball Goggles. You’re a fool if you play paintball and you don’t wear something to protect your eyes. Hopper. The thing you load your paintballs into is called the hopper. The most important thig with a hopper is that it be easy to load painballs into and out of. Hoppers are pretty interchangeable between most markers but some faster paintball markers will need an electric hopper.

Air. Paintball guns use air to fire paintballs when you pull on the trigger. You have a couple of choices when it comes to air. You can go with Carbon Dioxide (CO2) or you can use nitrogen.Nitrogen is what you want to use if you’re looking for high performance but most beginners use C02 because it’s cheaper and still very effective.

Equipment And Other equipment.Maintenance is essential if you plan on buying a paintball marker and you’ll at least need a squeegee and some oil to get started. If you plan on diving and crawling and really getting into the combat then it is recommended you wear some elbow and knee pads .Your knees and elbows can get easily bruised on the paintball battleground when and if you find yourself on the ground so it’s a good idea to protect them with elbow and knee pads You’ll find that most seasoned pros carry extra paintballs with them onto the battleground for easy reloading. You’ll have a much better experience and fare a lot better if you’re not worried about your paintball supply.

Paintball is extremely unique and nearly no sport comes close to it. If you are a beginner to paintball and you want to save some money then renting your gear is a good option for you.
